Native to Patagonia, Chilco (Fuchsia Magellanica) has been used traditionally for the dye it produces. When attempted we rendered a very depth Black from the branches and twigs, and the leaves left an amazing indigo type of dye. The name Chilco comes from the Mapuche people. This was my favorite plant observed in my time on the Chilean side of Patagonia.
